With this next shuttle launch bringing in the roomettes that will allow
crew expansion to 6, does anyone have any information on how much the
new US O2 generator has been tested since it was launched and what sort
of reliability it has exhibited ?

Also, does anyone know of the CDRA (carbon dioxide remover) has been
made reliable enough to be more than turned on occasionally ?


In the case of O2, should the US generator fail, what will be the
primary backup ? Will they use the O2 from the Quest tanks, will they
use O2 candles ? Or will they draw from the russian side O2 tanks ?

I had heard that the plan is to be able to refill the Quest tanks (after
shuttle retirement) via portable tanks to be launch on Progress. Will
this be tested anytime soon ? I would think that until they have a
reliable way to refill the Quest tanks, they might not wish to have them
as primary backup to O2 generator problems.
