Default James Webb Space Telescope

Is this the James Webb who was the NASA admin some time ago? If so, what
did he do for astronomy?

It is. A lot of people thought that was a pretty dubious name for a space
telescope; naming the first lunar base after him might make sense, but an
astronomical observatory??

And as I've mentioned it in the past, launching a space telescope named
after a NASA administrator, and not only that, but the NASA
administrator most associated with international competition rather than
cooperation, not that it was his idea, on a non-US rocket, which seems
more than likely to happen if launching it happens at all, strikes me as
ironic at the least.

Not that there's necessarily anything wrong with that, but what a world!
