Default Has this ever happened?

Today's _WuMo_ comic strip has a woodpecker at work on a

I have a vague nagging memory of something like this
happening, though, as in birds trying to go about their work with
a real live rocket intended for launch. (As opposed to, say, building
nests in the unused shells left in rocket gardens or museums, I mean.)

Has it, or am I just imagining things?

In June 1995 a flight of the space shuttle Discovery was delayed for
over a month as its external tank insulation had to be repaired due to
damage caused by a woodpecker.
