Default Delta IV Launch - Wow

"Doug Ellison" wrote in message ...

The Heavy configuration uses three Common Booster Core stages strapped
together to form a triple-body rocket.

The rocket is already at Cape Canaveral. It heads to the launch pad later in
the year.

"We have some work to go get the pad all activated for the Heavy," Delta
program manager Dan Collins said. "The three Common Booster Cores have been
mated in the Horizontal Integration Facility and we are looking forward to
mating the upper stage to them and rolling it (to the launch pad) this fall.
"

Damnit - anyone know of any pics of this -it just sounds so EMENSE !!

Florida Today had a graphic a couple of years ago showing outlines of
the two EELV's in comparison to the Shuttle, a Titan 3D (although they
captioned it as a Titan 4), and a Saturn V. Assuming the graphic is
to scale for all the LV's shown, the Delta 4H is taller than the
Shuttle stack and about as wide if the Shuttle wingtips were excluded.
The Common Booster Core side boosters were shown as both tall and
wider than the Shuttle SRB's.
