Default Space suit question

Watching From the Earth To the Moon again got me thinking. The suits that they
wore on the Apollo missions were so bulky and complicated, they needed a crew on
earth to help them get them on. So how did they, while in space and in the
cramped confines of the command module, manage to get them on and off without a
lot of help? Was it simply the matter of being weightless that made the suits
manageable in space?Thanks.

....That was part of it. The other part is that the checkout crew was
there to help the crew suit up in 1G so they wouldn't totally exhaust
themselves and allow them to keep their mind on the launch. Also, keep
in mind that even in 1/6 G, the two in the LM helped each other get
suited up; it was still a bitch to do it alone, although it was
demonstrated as achievable by design.
