Default ASTRO: Porter Sundial at Stellafane

Another picture from the 2007 Convention. It shows the south face of the
Pink Clubhouse with it's Russell W. Porter sundial completed in 1924. (see:
http://www.stellafane.com/history/early/sundial.html ).

To the left of the two people you may be able to make out the works of the
large solar telescope that feeds a large image of the sun into the upper
room of the clubhouse. This scope was featured on the cover of Scientific
American back in the 1920's and was thought to be lost. However club members
found the mount parts rusting in the woods and were able to fully restore
the old solar scope. The door opens into the kitchen with its still used
wood-fired stove.
