It's obviously visible to the naked eye. What a glaring mistake!

Lunar Eclipse - Ian Law

This shows a gibbous phased Moon. The shadow is concave (it's not the
shadow of the Earth - it's the shadow of the Moon itself - i.e. the
terminator).

A lunar eclipse cannot possibly occur during the gibbous phase shown.


Similar image was in The Times this morning.
