That's certainly true - however this one is entirely due to MS users.

Either
They click on any file that they receive (this is a bit like finding someone
has put a donut in your letter box (mailbox for former colonials) and
thinking its a good idea to have it for breakfast).
or
They have preview panel open on Outlook Express - which is like the above,
but without even thinking about it.

When run, it searches for p2p and NG files and strip mines them for email
addresses. Hence, the number of affected people in this and every other
newsgroup!

Don't forget HTML. According to the MS site the thing needs HTML
running so it can run when displayed. If you use a text reader and
both outlook and OE can be set to text only,
