The orbit of Earth defines
the Zodiac. The rotation of Earth defines the Spring Equinoctial Point
and thus the locations of Zodiac signs. The surface of Earth with
rotation defines the Ascendant as well as the entire House
distribution.

And this is just more proof that it doesn't work. You forgot about such
phenomena as precession and nutation of the Earth's axis, both of which
are caused by the Moon & Sun.
