Default COUNTDOWN TICKING FOR TODAY'S LAUNCH OF MARS ROVER

I satisfied my curiosity, and found out that Gale Crater is named
after an Australian banker, Walter Frederick Gale, who was also an
avid amateur astronomer, and the discoverer of two comets.

He did observe Mars, and mapped some canals there.

Perhaps someday there will be a yellow brick canal built in his honor
on Mars...
