There was a period where ground could command abort. Then a period where
station crew could command an abort (too high latency for ground
commands). And after a certain time, there was a call made that the
vehicle was autonomous and could no longer be called to abort.

It's last stop was at the 20m distance. The above "last" call was made
when vehicle was much closer to docking port, but can't remember the
distance.

I assume that an abort beyond that point wouldn't have time to cause
vehicle to stop forward motion AND would send thurster exhaust too close
to docking area.


And there you go. Even though it was an autonomous docking, both the
ground and the crew on ISS could command holds and aborts.
