Beat me to it! I'd found the same reference to NGC 4565 as the
"Needle Galaxy", and in the course of searching for corroboration my
Netscape got discombobulated (by some Java or something of the kind
it didn't like) ... by the time I got back to the NG your message had
arrived. I didn't find anywhere else this name was used, BTW.
