Default Macro-climate

Even without any participation, the general outlines of macro-climate are established. In this case macro-climate refers to the common traits which bind together all planets in the solar system where atmosphere is present and therefore annual variations occur.

Although the graphic gets the Equinox relationship of the North and South Poles wrong, both polar latitudes will turn parallel to the broken line representing the orbital plane of the Earth. Not just the polar locations but the entire surface experiences this uneven surface rotation originating in the orbital motion of the Earth -

The relationship of the Polar latitudes to the orbital plane creates a spectrum so that the more accurate 66 1/2 degree inclination of the Earth allows researchers to classify our planet in macro-climate terms as largely equatorial with a significant minor polar input. Jupiter with its 87 degree inclination has an almost totally equatorial macro-climate where atmospheric conditions are benign in terms of seasonal changes whereas Uranus with its 8 degree inclination has an almost total Polar macro-climate.
