Since they obviously do not emit any self-generated light and are therefore
difficult to detect, chances are that there are a whole lot of these object
lurking in the depths of galaxies. This may account for some of the unseen
or "missing" matter that scientist are so baffled by. Add to that an
abundance of "brown dwarfs" and perhaps the "missing" matter is not missing
any longer.
