Before you had mostly empty magnification. By taking the shot at much
lower magnification you'll freeze seeing at moments of the best seeing
due to the much shorter exposure time and get a lot better shot. Thanks
to digital storage you can take dozens or even hundreds of shots to get
that one good one and discard the rest. Web cams are actually better
suited for this than any other camera as they are made to grab 20 or so
shots a second making it easy to take several hundred. Then stacking
the top 20% or so gives you the data depth to then use wavelet
processing to greatly improve the image. See K3CCDTools and Registax
for free software that does this.
