CSI Miami throws science out the window, again

Well, in one early (possibly first) season episode I saw CSI (LV) get the
function of a GFCI totally wrong, and the murder plot depended on that.
In other words, what they depicted as happening could not have happened
in the way they described. I don't know how well they handle the lab
stuff, I know electrical things much better, but my wife is a chemist
and she always drools over the equipment they use. I've never heard
her complain about the science techniques.
You're right, I have seen them mess up a few electrocution cases
somewhat. Still, they do pretty well, especially with the clinical
chemistry stuff. Where they deviate from reality the most is in the
quality of equipment, and quality of minds. I doubt there are any city
or county forensics labs that have anywhere near as good of either. But
if we were going to demand that kind of reality from fiction, it would
be pretty boring!
