Election Follies
In Oregon the voters passed by 53.04% to 46.96% a law limiting
political contributions. Then on the same ballot, they voted down by
59.78% to 40.22% the amendment to the state constitution that was
required to allow that law to go into effect! This either demonstrates
conclusively the vacuous confusion of the air headed voters, or else
something is terribly wrong with the accuracy or honesty of the vote
counting system.
The fact that voters consistently and overwhelmingly voted for higher
taxes seemed a little suspicious too!
