Incorrect. Any revenue raised by any federal agency (including NASA)
goes straight into the Treasury. It does not mean NASA will get more money.

Agreed. You cannot as a private citizen even write a check to NASA.

However the politicians managed to carve out an exception for themselves when
it comes to campaign financing. Hence the check-off on your 1040. Too bad
space exploration cannot get a check-off...
