The heart does sink sometimes despite seeing the way through all this to the eventual recovery of astronomy. The rise of celestial sphere software was indeed rapid as were descriptions based on that clockwork generated and homocentric view -

Basically borrowing from the tropic of Cancer/Capricorn and split by the Equator, it escaped into the celestial arena where they even pivot the circle of illumination to suit the Sun over the latitudinal points -

Somebody else must feel something when confronted with such childish notions that were allowed to fester, even in the lifetime of this newsgroup. So where to now ?.
