MG, I agree with this criticism of democracy. My excitement is that
the sheep now gets a vote! New concept for a large internet business.

Definitely nothing being invented here. The Magna Carta goes back
more than half a millennium prior to the UN declaration. What is new
is the porting of the democratic process to set internet policy.
Google came onto the scene in 1998 as a breath of fresh air for
setting the standard for corporate ethics. (And they've even done a
surprisingly decent job of maintaining that after IPO.) Facebook in
2009 has now extended Google's lead by transferring the *authority*
for such policies to the users.

Huge kudos to Mark Zuckerburg for being the 21st Century King John.
What is most impressive is that Mark made this call from a position of
strength. He was not being held at knife-point by any user-barons.
