From Jeff Findley:

Thanks. I have always accessed Usenet via GoogleGroups. Never through a newsreader. And Google has taken steps to degrade the functionality of this service. I expect this was motivated by their desire to drive people away from these forums so they might move to other Google-controlled forums where they can make a buck off you with their ads.

I can also tell because your posts don't limit the width to 80 columns.
Yes, it's a hold over from the "old days" when text terminals were
physically limited to 80 columns in width, but it's still a p.i.t.a. to
have to scroll to the right in a "real newsreader" to read posts that
are formatted this way. :-P

I have been using Eternal September as my (real, free) new server and
MicroPlanet Gravity as my newsreader for years. Free is always good.
