Note that LIGO people did not care about precise values - they calculated the maximum delay, 10 ms, from the great-circle distance, 3002 km, which would be incredible under normal circumstances. But the circumstances are not normal - precise values don't matter because they are all fake. In such cases the only care is not to produce suspicious (unrealistic) values.
