Default Orion StarShoot Color Imagers

Well, it may be similar but not the same.
The Orion imager has thermoelectric cooling, which is very important for CCD
work. It also has more (but smaller) pixels. It remains to be seen if and
how much better it is than the Meade colour camera (which is not really much
better than a modified webcam).

It's the same as Celestrons planet imager and their DSO model is the same
as Meade's...they're on target if not a bit slow to the market.

Orion will be shipping two new color imagers in November. Two groups
have been set up for the discussion of these new entries into the
astrophotography field:

* Orion StarShoot Deep-Space Color Imager:
http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/Orion_StarShoot

* Orion StarShoot Solar System Color Imager:
http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/Orion...t_Solar_System

An overview of both of these cameras can be found at (and will be
update as new info become available):

Thanks for the info! A friend sent me an e-mail about this imager. The
price
seems too good to be true though.
