I have a telescope with a camera attached, so I might have problems
getting the images onto my laptop. Does this make it on topic in
uk.sci.astronomy?

I run my mount, ccd autoguider and laptop from a car battery so , apart from
carrying the thing, no problems. So yes, it's on topic for uk.sci.astronomy
(sorry to uk.transport for continuing to be off-topic).

actually get a dark sky!

Me too. But what are the chances of it coinciding with it being clear AND
moonless? Also, a while back we were blessed with a power cut so what did
the neighbours do? Ran outside and waved torches in the air (B*****ks)
