Hello all,
I'm sorry if this question is out of place here, but I have no idea
where to look.
I'm looking for a way to calculate the time of sunrise and sunset
given a UTC date & time and a set of coordinates.
I don't care about a specific programming language, as long as I can
figure out the formulae behind the thing.
Thanks in advance,

At one point, there was such a file by s.a.a. contributor Paul Schlyter
in Bob Stout's C SNIPPETS (
www.snippets.org
), but I can't seem to
locate it anymore. If you can't locate it any other way, email me and I
send a copy I have to you, from an older version of SNIPPETS. It's
about 500 lines, or I'd just post it here.
Sky & Telescope published a BASIC language program for computing
times of sunrise and sunset. I believe that it was called
SUNUP.BAS, and should be available for download from the S&T
site:
http://skyandtelescope.com/resources...icle_326_1.asp
The program was from August 1994.
