There's been too much of that and more, for sure. Nevertheless,
negligence often causes the crashes of large airliners (which, BTW,
have no crew escape systems). Passengers and crew alike rely on heads-
up maintenance, take-off, and landing procedures. In short, management
with integrity makes the difference, whether it's in the government
sector or the commercial sector.

airliners arent launced to orbit as loaded bombs. so safety
comparisons arent comparable.... someday passenger modules will add
more safety, the trouble is most airliner accidents are takeoff and
landing.....
frankly i think nationwide mag lev rail transit will be the future of
passenger traffic across the us soon.
terrorists sooner or later will SAM a couple airliners out of the sky,
and end the airline industry as we know it. besides rail would reduce
high altitude pollution
