That redwood theory reminds me of those monks in Asia who ate lots of
wood resins and other things to try to become mummies. Sort of
getting the preservatives into their bodies while they were still
alive. But the ones who successfully mummified, also drank the
arsenic laced waters of a nearby natural spring. They were after long
lasting bodies, not long lasting life.
