Does anyone else here think the foto of the final Titan II launch at

containing the foto at

is one of the best-ever fotos of any launch vehicle ever?
Granted, nothing yet will come close to those curvilinear wide-angle
close-ups of Saturn Vs clearing the tower, but still, this is memorable as
it's one of the more unusual camera angles and compositions I've seen in a
while. There's so much to like about this -- the low-angle view, the
flawless deep blue sky, the sun low and directly behind the Titan, so
bright it almost blots out the nozzle flames and makes the booster appear
to be suspended in the air just above the pad, as if by magic, like Jesus
hanging on a cross floating in air in a Dali Crucifixion?
God damn, what a great shot. Too bad there's none like this from Gemini.

if Adolf Hitler flew in today,
they'd send a limousine anyway!" --the clash.
