(2) It was utterly destroyed by Alexander the Great
in 335 B.C.
(3) Most of the inhabitants were killed.
(4) They're still dead.

None of the three of whom I've heard of is a specialist, and none of
them is competent in Akkadian or Arabic.
How should I know?? They're the authors of standard works on
Mesopotamian astronomy.
