Your attributions are incorrect,the 1898 science fiction novel first
came up with the notion of time ans space as a single 4th dimensional
unit.It may be only for the purposes of a fictional narrative
neccessity but it precedes the 1905 concept of Albert by 7 years -

" 'Scientific people,' proceeded the Time Traveller, after the pause
required for the proper assimilation of this, 'know very well that
Time is only a kind of Space."

In short,relativity is just an exotic extension of the Newtonian
scaffolding which in turn is built on Flamsteed's celestial sphere
structure and a catastrophic error in justifying the motions of the
Earth using the return of a star to a meridian.

It costs a billion dollars to prove H.G.Well's right when you could
have just gone straight to the conclusion of the wonderful fictional
book -
