How? without buckling the crust? Is there a book somewhere explains
this? how convection can do this (globally) - cause collision and
uplift with no buckling. All mountainous regions that I know of are
dissected plateaus, and typically of flat-lying strata.

Earth expansion is the only rational answer how movement on the
landward side of so-called 'subduction zones' is consistently upwards.
(check the web for raised platforms all around the Pacific for
example, ...and of course the biggest ones of all, the Rocky
mountains and their Asian and south American extents.
