'Plan 9' is overrated, IMHO. There are far, far worse movies out
there, some of them with multi-million dollar budgets... I'd rather
watch 'Plan 9' a hundred times than sit through a number of truly
atrocious movies I've seen movies for a second time.

I'd thought the run of Mystery Science Theater 3000 buried, at
last, the notion that "Plan Nine From Outer Space" was even close to the
worst movie ever made. When there's soul-sapping things like "Manos" or
"The Beast of Yucca Flats" or "Hellcats" out there, "Plan Nine" is really
a friendly, almost delightful film. And that's not even putting it up
against the modern ability to make punishingly bad soulless garbage; at
least "Plan Nine" looks like it was made by somebody who was trying to
entertain.
