Default ASTRO: 2 new images in H-alpha

Rick - Thanks for the heads up on this. A couple of friends have seen what
your talking about so when I bought this one the ad for it said it had
already hazed and the objective was a brand new style objective. It seems
that the old turquiose front style pst are the ones that develop haze. The
new ones have a blue more transparent front to them. Clear Skyz, LA

Hello everyone. Attached are two of my latest in H-alpha. Rough seeing
but it was clear. I have also placed and order recently for a PST. I am
hopeful that it will get here on Friday of this week. Now, I'll have
something to do at work during my lunch break.

Your images always take me back to Haleakala. Whiplash is a great name
for that filament! Your "rough" seeing is better than my typical seeing
by quite a bit. I rarely have seeing that would bring a sweat to the
PST's 40mm objective unfortunately.

BTW, the one we bought for Hyde Memorial Observatory soon developed a bad
objective. That is a cemented doublet and the cement let go. Guess
that's a problem of late. They are replacing it no problem just a hassle.
New one has a very different objective (different supplier?) I'm told.
Least the coatings are different. Performance is the same as it was
before the cement let go.
