How can sanity coexist if any part of your mindset is based upon a lie?

Lots of double-checks and limiting how far you are willing to go based
solely on any one given truth. There's an area of math that studies
logical systems that include contradictions, and look at what can still
be "safely" derived. It's called paraconsistent logic.

Very very handy for anyone who has to deal with noisy data.
If you can't see how to maintain sanity under such conditions, it
explains much of your usenet posting habits.
