The best indicator of insanity is when the abnormal seems normal.

Problem is that every human culture has had wildly different ideas of
what "normal" and "abnormal" is.
To the Mayans, tearing people's hearts out to prevent Venus from
destroying the world seemed like a perfectly normal and rational thing
to do.

Normal, morality or truth changes from one place or person to another.
So truth is contextual, or subjective. Our science holds the opposite is
true.
Equations that work as well backwards in time as forward, even
though in nature that never happens. Universal laws or constants
that never changes, even though in nature nothing remains
constant or ever exactly repeats.

So how are we to know what is true, or good?

We have two opposite extremes here, fixed scientific laws
or methods and chaotic natural behavior.
Static and chaotic attractors.

Both must be part of any answer. Whether that takes the
form of combining physics and Darwin. Or science and
religion. Or democrat and republican. The truth lies
where the two opposites overlap. Truth ....never... resides
in one extreme or the other.

On the upside, they never had to deal with day-by-day rumors about Paris
Hilton and Britney Spears getting it on in a bathroom.
Where's that razor-sharp obsidian knife when you really need it?

Paris and Britney stripping to panties and having a pillow
fight seems pretty normal to me...
