Default Meteorite?

Trevor,

Just found your report, I posted a sighting on an astro imaging group on the
11th Dec.

Here is my post:
-------------
Last night driving home from work I believe I saw a bright object crossing
the sky. From the South side of Sheffield, looking North the object tracked
E to W at about 30 degrees above the horizon. It was very bright causing a
'visual' trail and moving much faster than any aircraft. Unfortunately I
didn't see the start or end as the object went behind the scenery!
Anyone else catch this?
-------------

In my original post I said the time was 4:18pm but I now realise I was late
home from work that day and it was approx 5:18pm.

Regards,

I haven't posted here before tonight, but for what it's worth, just thought
I'd mention something I saw this evening at 17.15 GMT.

Something fell from the night sky like a shooting star. However, it
wasn't:

a) as fast as the normal shooting starts I have seen or

b) as far away

It was a larger slower moving source of light moving across the sky in a
westerly direction at an angle of 30-40 degrees and it hit the ground I
would say withing 20 miles of where I was (4 miles south of Driffield,
East Yorkshire).

I would welcome any feedback.
