Just so you know, I happen to be a registed Democrat, but I've
probably never voted a straight party line in my life.

(I hear lots of 'trash Bush.' Okay, fine. Now, what *else* are you
for, please. George McGovern suffered from the same thing. Get us out of
Vietnam? Okay. Now what will you do with the *other* three years and
eleven months, sir? I don't know about you, but I look at *many* issues
before pulling the lever.)

And somehow, you've forgotten to tell me how the above will enhance
space science *or* development. (again, just so you know, I'm posting
from the sci.space.policy NG, and that's how I'm approaching this
thread) The last Democrat president to be clearly for it, was Lyndon
Johnson. No presidential candidate lost or gained many votes for their
position on such things.

But as long as the government doesn't get in the *way,* I can live
with it. Throwing some useful bones out there like the recent COTS money
is good too, but not make-or-break. AsI've said elsewhere, ISS's biggest
value may be in providing a modest but real re-supply market for the
startups to address, and continue from there.
