Default park owner

"Starlord" jibbered in message
. ..
Yesterday while sitting out at the park table reading my Sky & Tel. the
other people where talking and then the trailer park owner came over and
sat down, seeing my magazine, he asked what was new and as he asked (his
mistake not mine) I told him about the IAU and what they where working on
and the vote would be this next week.

he then came up with one of his totaly off the wall things, that what
where they going to call things that where planet in size but did orbit
around any sun. I said that it would still be a planet if it was big and
basicly round it would be a planet.

From the IAU draft definition of "planet" and "plutons".

"According to the new draft definition, two conditions must be satisfied
for an
object to be called a "planet." First, the object must be in orbit
around a
star, while not being itself a star. Second, the object must be large
enough (or more technically correct, massive enough) for its own gravity
to
pull it into a nearly spherical shape."

So perhaps his question was off the IAU draft proposal rather than off
the wall.
