Starry Night runs on OS X. All versions are paid for and expensive for
the higher level ones but the backyard version is what I've used since
moving from a PC with SkyMap.

Thanks guys

I'm familar with SN as when I had a PC I used it a lot - and I think
this summer when I get some summer work done (Mature student doing
astrophysics here!) I'll be buying SN.

I don't mind Stellarium - I just want something that looks in place on
the OS X desktop ;-)
