Rosamond Report
It started out friday night, now all day I really
didn't think I'd be going up as all day it was
a windy day, as last as 4pm the winds where blowing.
By 5:30pm the winds had died, just like a fan
being turned off. So I loaded the scope up and
went up and set up. Now most of the time Friday
is a slower night, but this night was one of my
better ones. People who had seen me but never stop
did so. One mah/woman couple even walked from their
home to see the scope. I had the normal teens
stop by for a fast look, but a few out of area
floks stopped by too. All total I figure there was
about 12 people that night.
By 9:30 it was dead, about the only ones on the road
was older teens in their go fast cars.
Saturday night was slower but in a way even better,
meet one guy who came over with his kid to take a
look and in talking I find out he's conneted to a
outfit called the Royal Rangers, a church based outfit
something like the boy scouts and right now they are
going for their Model Rocktry badge and that falls
right into my other main area, so if all goes good
this coming wensday night I'll have my scope at their
meeting for viewing and a rocketry talk too.
Sunday night I was set up by 5pm with the Moon and
Mars not far apart, but it was getting cold and most
people where driving to get home. I had just 4 people
stop by to see the moon.
There's a new sport in town, at lest for one SUV,
it's to drive by fast and yell out a bunch of foul
worlds my way, they went by 4 times tonight. High
School Jocks.
