Though it is true that these magnetic belts can be potentially
dangerous, didn't astronauts travel through them in the 1970's with the
Apollo program? If we really wanted to know it the belts are harmful,
then why didn't NASA do medical tests on the astronauts that came back?
I would seem to me that they would have, and if they did and found
something, that they would have cancelled the program. Maybe I am
mistaken or naive, but I would expect that since the journey to the
moon has already been accoplished in a more primitive spacecraft, that
going back to the moon with new technology could only be better.
