Hi Double-A Having been made Florida's meteorologist for this group, and
making predictions come to pass it is done with great thought(much
thinking about) I have always held that my theories are based on good
scientific knowledge. I know the weather can be chaotic. Still I also
know the Earth's atmosphere has prevailing winds. Winds that carry
storms created over Africa to the southeast coast of north and south
America. I know there is a Gulf stream of both air and water that flows
to the north close to the shore line. Ophelia came right up to Daytona
beach, and that is half way up the Florida peninsular. That is why I
predicted it staying in close to the coast, and going north, and gaining
strength from the energy of the gulf stream(warm water) My mind
forecast on Chesapeake Bay,and washington DC. Spinning over warm water
sucks up lots of moisture, and that made lots of rain an easy prediction.
Lots and lots of rivers in that area of Virginia. Washington sits on the
Delaware. Bert
