I recently had the opportunity to meet someone just back from Iraq. He makes
it clear that the media is lying to the American public- the Iraqis are
*grateful* for our presence, and the vast majority of them are far better
off now than they were under Saddam. The truth doesn't make for good
ratings. If the politicos would simply make up their mind as to what they
want and shut up, the job could be completed in short order.

IF the truth about Iraq were getting out, there wouldn't be another Democrat
elected for a century.


Yes, it's interesting that while recruitment is down, retention of
regular military is actually pretty good. In other words, people who
actually have experience with what's going on there aren't unhappy
about it, whereas people who only get their news from the domestic
media don't want to go.
