STS-114 EVENTS, BRIEFINGS AND KSC NEWS CENTER OPERATING HOURS SET

News conferences, events and operating hours for NASA's Kennedy Space
Center (KSC) News Center are set for the targeted July 26 launch of
the Space Shuttle Discovery on the Return to Flight (RTF) mission,
STS-114. The news conferences and events will be carried live on NASA
Television unless otherwise indicated.

Beginning tomorrow, news media representatives who have been
accredited for this mission may pick up their mission credentials
from KARS Park on Hall Road (off State Road 3, south of KSC) during
published times. Credential and badging hours are listed below.

The days before launch, countdown status briefings and a prelaunch
press conference are scheduled. A listing of these briefings and
other key launch events follows.

(Times may be adjusted in real time depending on mission events and
timelines.)

News media who have not already obtained their STS-114 mission
credentials may do so during the following times from KARS Park
located on Hall Road which is a turn off of State Road 3, about five
miles south of the KSC entrance.

MEDIA ARE REMINDED THEY MUST CAR POOL OR RIDE A BUS FROM KARS PARK
WHEN TRAVELING TO THE PRESS SITE ON LAUNCH DAY.

FOREIGN NATIONAL MEDIA ARE REQUIRED TO BE ESCORTED AT ALL TIMES WHILE
AT KSC AND THEREFORE MUST RIDE A BUS TO AND FROM THE PRESS SITE.

NEWS MEDIA ARE REQUIRED TO BE UNDER PUBLIC AFFAIRS ESCORT AT ALL TIMES
WHILE AT KSC EXCEPT WHEN AT THE NEWS CENTER OR THE COMPLEX 39
CAFETERIA.

NASA TV is carried by MPEG-2 digital signal accessed via satellite
AMC-6, at 72 degrees west longitude, transponder 17C, 4040 MHz,
vertical polarization. It's available in Alaska and Hawaii in analog
through Return to Flight on AMC-7, at 137 degrees west longitude,
transponder 18, at 4060 MHz, vertical polarization, audio at 6.8 MHz.
A Digital Video Broadcast compliant Integrated Receiver Decoder is
required for reception. NASA TV is also available on the Internet at:
