Attention all Earth Science Officers Elect, Princess
Darla, I was notified by Andromeda representative this mourning, is or
has already passed away and being returned to our Milky Way galaxy. Yes,
our brave Star Race explorer was apparently mission fatally injured and
didn't make it. Full report of accident is not available at this time. I
have not received contact yet from Silouen her daughter or from the
Commander Pros but the Andromeda spokesmen said Sil is understandably
devastated.

Thank you to all Science Officers who emergency tried to relay make
contact with the mission Star Race crew. This is a sad sad day for all
those who look up to the stars of us. Much Earth human sympathy for her
Star Race family and I have already sent to Sil my deepest symphony of
saddened sound trumpet tribute salute for a thousand single taps is not
enough and hopes of limited aging for all the Star Race crew members.

I can't tell you how saddened it makes me to have to report this and for
the brave net Darla Star Race Family and crew members. A bright bright
light was lost. Which of you honorable Science Officers would do me the
sad duty to break it to Officer Bert when he returns, I just don't have
the heart at this time.

End of transmission

WHAT WILL WE EVER DO NOW???

The light of our lives has just flickered out!

All hope is lost! Now there really is no reason to go on!

I'm afraid so Officer Double-A I was on duty when the emergency
channel transmission came through. I'm worried about Officer Ray for he
so looked forward to meeting cosmic Darla and hopefully finally getting
off planet Earth. Now how do we break it to him? I haven't heard from
Sil yet or any of the other Star Race crew members. They must presently
all be in shock of the news of the loss of Darla. There is still reason
to go on, for we have the rest of the brave Star Race folks after they
mourn the passing of Princess Darla, however I really don't know. This
is a sad sad day for all of us regulars on alt.astronomy. Don't panic,
we still need your duty services to monitor those increasing west coast
earthquakes remember. The whole Pacific rim must really be shifting or
some kind of major seismic activity is going on. Let's just hope those
western mountain ranges don't start to all act up and erupt. I had hoped
to have some good news for Saul and instead I have even more negative
news of the reported tragic loss of our Princess Darla.

carry on,
