It's odd looking at this from the UK:

1 Meade and Celestron were solidly vilified until Celestron was
bought out. Now Meade is a bastion of Americanism. Maybe the
talking-down claimed the weaker of the two - congratulations! Who
will you talk-down next? - Televue?

2 The UK's last volume car manufactuer is now to close, losing 10,000+
jobs in that and support firms, because the Chinese DIDN'T buy them
out.
