Slayton only waited 16 years, 1959 to 1975 --
two members of the 'XS-11' class of 1967 had
to wait until 1985 to fly -- 18 years.

One member of the 1966 group also did not
fly until 1985 -- 19 years.

...as I recall -- needs fact-checking...
