Default McDonalds: I'm NOT loving it (food nor the light pollution!)

It's bad enought the food at McDonalds is terrible. It's even worse
when every McDonalds has a searchlight on top of EVERY McDonalds.

Living in the city, it is tolerable for when a car-dealership or
nightclub pulls out the searchlight to gather people to come to their
business. Typically they only do this once every other weekend. But
the McDonnalds Corporation has made it irksome and annoying.

Light pollution is one of the main reasons why people don't see as many
stars in the city as they do in the country. But when there is a
McDonnalds literally within a five mile radius of each other, and each
of them has a searchlight, the only visible object is the moon. All
other stellar objects, even the brightest of stars, become difficult to
see when I want to do some backyard astronomy or just want to look at
the stars.

What will happen to the sky when the lights have outshined the moon?
Seeing not the heavens above us but projected advertising and an
overkill of searchlights? To not sleep at night because night has
become day? To put it bluntly, why are we just letting them get away
with this?

I want my night sky back!
