Default Old Planetary Programs

I'd like to thank those who helped me with my recent quest for '60s and
'70s era information. (paulo, did you get my e-mail reply?) I suspected
the NASA archives would be a help, but I wasn't certain how to do a
fruitful search; I didn't even think about the various tech manuals. I
also found some decent pics of Ulysses at the JPL homepage.

Probably the highest priority on my list at the moment is a good
quality copy of Viking's first picture from the Martian surface, the
footpad pic. I've found a good source for the panorama, but the best
I've got for the footpad shot is a TINY unlinkable thumbnail-size. That
was after about a dozen google attempts. Can anyone do better? also,
did Viking 2 take a similar pic for its first? I assume it did, but I
don't recall ever seeing one at the time. (I lost most of my newspaper
clippings and files in a garage fire several years ago.)
