Let's assume that that in fact global warming is real and
disaster will eventually happen.

What will be done about it?

Nothing.

That's because nobody has the will to really
do something real.

Real implies:

1) conversion of perhaps 75% of current cropland to
unoccupied forest

2) cutting use of fossil fuels to perhaps 20% of
current useage ... not a 20% reduction, an 80% reduction

to do this will end up requiring:

1) a dramatic reduction in the number of people
with first world standard of living .... from perhaps
one billion today to 200 to 500 million in 50 years.

2) a total reduction of population from 6 billion today
to perhaps 1 to 1.5 billion 100 years from now.

3) methods of making this happen. Realistically, this
means
a) forced birth control
b) forced sterilization
c) infanticide
d) Nazi-style gas chambers for all old people

4) MASSIVE WAR

None of this will happen. Anybody who thinks any significant
dent in CO2 generation will happen in 100 years is deluded.
